NORTHERN COLORADO – Northern Colorado’s real estate market last year started and ended with big upswings, spurring investment across the region and great confidence for continued growth in 2013, Eric Thompson, president and CEO of The Group, Inc., announced at The Group’s annual Economic Forecast held on Tuesday, February 12 in Loveland, Colorado.
“This is really a positive sign for the entire Northern Colorado community,” Thompson said. “While other markets are still suffering from the Great Recession, our market is still going strong, offering opportunities for both buyers and sellers.”
The Group, Inc.’s, yearly Economic Forecast is a marquee event for regional realtors, developers, investors and public-policy experts. As one of the largest and most successful real estate firms in the state, The Group, Inc., is looked to for crucial insights into what the future holds for real estate, based on expert analyses of the previous year’s key trends.
In the residential market average sales prices increased by more than 6 percent from last year. The dollar-volume of home sales, meanwhile, skyrocketed by close to 30 percent.
At the same time, the commercial market was bolstered by rising investment in the energy, technology and agricultural sectors. Industrial, retail, office and apartment vacancies decreased across the board in Fort Collins and Loveland, and office vacancies also shrank in Greeley, Evans and Windsor.
“Investment’s only expected to keep increasing in 2013,” Thompson said. “As this outside capital keeps flowing to northern Colorado, expect these trends — fewer vacancies, rising sales — to continue.”
The Group, Inc., based in Fort Collins, consists of nearly 230 owners in five offices in northern Colorado who work together to best serve their customers and communities. The company performed more than 34 percent of all real estate transactions in northern Colorado last year, and it is regularly named one of the country’s Top-200 real estate firms by Real Trends Magazine.
