LONGMONT – Homeowners Jill Reed and John Wolfe each chose to buy at Kingsbridge Townhomes in Longmont for the quality of the homes and the promise of an active, easy lifestyle.
These new high-quality, energy-efficient, right-sized townhomes are built by Boulder Creek Builders, pioneers in residential development for the “active lifestyle” homeowner. This respected local builder has delighted Boulder County homeowners with well-built, low-maintenance homes that come without the hassle of mowing the lawn or shoveling snow.
Kingsbridge is set in a quiet area of west Longmont, within a mile of shopping and restaurants, with amazing recreational opportunities nearby – trails, hiking, skiing and tourist activities.
Life at Kingsbridge
Jill Reed moved from a five-bedroom home in Longmont two years ago into her “right-sized” Kingsbridge townhome. Now she has time for activities she likes. “I don’t have to worry about outside maintenance, like doing the lawn, or roof repairs, or painting, or shoveling snow,” she says. “There are lots of nice paths here for biking and taking walks.”
She is “a first-time homebuyer on my own. They walked me through and explained everything to me. It was a great experience. The quality of the home is excellent. It’s important to me that it’s Energy Star-rated. The builder increased the amount of insulation beyond what was required in the building code, which keeps energy costs down. It’s so quiet and well insulated that I don’t hear my neighbors.”
She had looked at several apartments, condos and townhomes. “I love the size of my home. I fell in love with this model – the Venice. I felt I was in a single-family house. The floor plan is open but cozy. There’s a nook for my piano, which was important to me. The storage area is huge. The kitchen and bathrooms are ample.”
Her boyfriend painted the inside of the garage, which was already finished, and, she says, “It’s gorgeous. He put a TV there and a comfortable chair. There’s still room for our two cars. It’s his man-cave.”
The builder responded immediately on a couple of warranty items in the very beginning of her occupancy, replacing a faulty dishwasher and fixing a circuit. She has had no problems since.
“I love this community – nice people, great neighbors. The location is great – convenient to go into Boulder, Denver, Longmont, to the mountains. They take care of it beautifully. They planted nice-size trees, a lot of flowers in front of each unit. There’s a nice picnic area with tables and a grill.”
John Wolfe, retired and an avid cyclist, has owned his townhome at Kingsbridge for more than a year.
“Not having to take care of a lawn lets me get on my bike most any time without that nagging feeling that I should be pushing a lawn mower. By chance, I met a fellow cyclist who is also retired and we started riding together last August. We find it easy to get to the most popular bike routes between here and Boulder.”
There is a sidebar to their chance meeting. According to Wolfe, his biking companion lived in an apartment complex nearby half the year and in Florida the other part of the year. “After talking to him about my townhouse and the fact that it was less money per month then his apartment, he started to think about buying a place in the area. To make a long story short, he and his wife bought a townhouse at Kingsbridge!”
Wolfe is pleased with the quality of his home, “My townhouse seems to be very well built. There were only a few minor warranty items and these were addressed quickly. Everyone who has seen my townhouse has been impressed with the design and quality.
I am finding my home to be a great size for me. The open layout is great for entertaining, the garage is a generous size and the extra storage space is a bonus.”
The community’s location is another plus. “Living here makes it very easy to get to anywhere in Longmont and Boulder. I can bike to Boulder in less than half an hour and drive to Boulder in 15 minutes.”
Built for the way you live
With four floor plans to choose from, the townhomes range in size from 1,400 to 1,793 square feet, each with three bathrooms and either two or three bedrooms, and a private attached two-car garage. The architecture is stylish and imposing, with attractive stonework and columns, and a courtyard concept.
Among the many included features are maintained landscaping throughout the community, 8-foot to 11-foot ceilings on the main floor, birch hardwood cabinets, low-VOC paints and carpeting for healthier indoor air, and Rinnai whole-house tankless water heaters for added energy savings.
Kingsbridge buyers are a mix of baby boomers, empty nesters, people who want a right-sized, low-maintenance, lock-and-leave home so they can pursue their interests, grandparents moving here to be near grandchildren, families including children, and single professionals. The central location affords easy access to Denver, Boulder, Fort Collins
Quality-built, green and efficient
Kingsbridge townhomes are constructed to Built Green standards and qualify as Energy Star homes. Each home boasts dozens of green features, such as an Advanced Insulation Package that goes beyond the building code to provide a more comfortable home and results in lower energy costs; and certified composite wood trim and decking materials to reduce the use of natural materials. Homeowners never cringe when their utility bill arrives. In fact, they look forward to seeing how much they saved on energy costs.
