LONGMONT – Deb McKee and Kathy Danskin of Longmont had an “aha” moment shortly after they started looking for a new home. “We have lived in our present neighborhood in Longmont for 15 years and were ready to see what was new in ‘new homes.’ We were dreaming of modern appliances, environmentally friendly building practices, ranch-style plans, and beautiful new design choices and materials. So we started to look at model homes along the Front Range.”
Through a series of “chance contacts,” they were introduced to Boulder Creek Neighborhoods in Longmont. And that’s when the aha moment occurred.
“We soon learned that the company is owned by the sons of the builder from whom we purchased our current home 15 years ago! We felt as if we were still ‘in the family’ when we looked at Tramonto in Longmont. Everyone made us feel right at home.”
And how fortunate it was that their experience with Boulder Creek Neighborhoods over the past decade and a half has been very positive. “We have loved our home in Heritage Townhomes in Longmont, where we have enjoyed a patio-style, low-maintenance home. We have made good friends here and have appreciated the quality that the builder put into the construction of these homes.”
So choosing to move to Tramonto “was an easy decision for us to make – being confident in the builder already. And we will be only a few minutes away from our current neighbors. We liked the fact that we could continue to see our ‘old family’ as well as create a ‘new family’ in the Tramonto neighborhood.”
Choosing to stay in Longmont was another easy decision for Deb and Kathy to make. “We like the small-town feel of Longmont. The City provides activities and things to do, bike trails, walking paths, parks, recreational facilities, three golf courses, and house pricing that has traditionally been lower than other parts of Boulder County.”
The Tramonto neighborhood interests them especially because, they say, “We are interested in a small community, open spaces, community gardens, quality homes, friendly homeowners, and views of the Rocky Mountain Range.” Not having to worry about home maintenance chores frees them to enjoy their lives. “We look forward to having the time and the freedom to enjoy hobbies, friends, and traveling.”
They have ideas for some new hobbies and activities, too. “We plan to finally have a small area for growing our own fresh veggies. We hope to spend more time on our patio entertaining guests and enjoying our friends – new and old. We look forward to creating a spa/exercise/game area in our basement, which will make our new home even more enjoyable and relaxing.”
The floorplan that they have chosen at Tramonto is the Equinox, which has two bedrooms and two baths on the main floor for a total of about 1,700 square feet, as well as a lower level that can be transformed into the kind of recreation and living area they envision. The home reflects many of the core principles guiding Boulder Creek Neighborhoods – a low-maintenance lifestyle, main-floor designs, open floor plans, and zero-step thresholds, among many desirable and thoughtful features.
“When we walked into the Equinox model, it was so open and inviting that it took our breath away,” Kathy and Deb say. “It was the ‘wow factor’ we were looking for. It is a ranch-style home with open spaces and room to share with many friends. It has many windows and wonderful natural light. Rooms are spacious, but not over-sized. The floor plan promises to be very livable.”
Another delight for these homeowners was Boulder Creek Neighborhoods’ home personalization process, where they got to choose all the elements that they want for their home.
“We had so much fun picking out new color and design choices with the ‘experts.’ We appreciated their guidance and attention to detail. We selected engineered hardwood flooring that is beautiful, a stone fireplace surround that is a bit rugged but cozy, granite/quartz countertops and shower tile that is elegant, and all the other upgrades that will make this our dream home. We will have a patio that is large enough for entertaining.”
They were also gratified to have “energy-efficient appliances with the latest features and our choice of energy-efficient heating/cooling systems, which will be environmentally friendly.”
Their other “must-haves” included “low-maintenance living, updated design features like high ceilings and walk-in closets, smart house technology built-in, main floor laundry, a large kitchen island, lots of cabinets for storage, a walk-in pantry, ranch-style design, pricing that fit our budget, and location, location, location! Living close to the Front Range is a must-have for us.”
The delighted new homeowners added a special “thank you” to Karen Sanders and Brandon Eide at the Tramonto Sales Office. “And to our expert Trade Partners – Shelly, Kimberly, and Jay. They became friends as well as consultants throughout this process.”
The quiet, intimate neighborhood of Tramonto is located near the Renaissance Master Planned community in southwest Longmont. It is a retreat from the intensity of city life – yet only a short 15-minute drive from Boulder. It is close to all the amenities Longmont offers, like the new Village at the Peaks mall, restaurants and shops, and also access to the highway for trips to Boulder, Denver and all of Colorado.
The Tramonto community is ideal for people who want to live in a home that makes them feel they’re on vacation all the time. They get to take back their free time from the multitude of home maintenance chores, including raking leaves and shoveling snow, and instead spend the time traveling, hiking, enjoying hobbies – in other words, doing what fulfills them.
Boulder Creek Neighborhoods calls this full engagement in life “Lifefullness.” The guiding philosophy of the company, it’s about building homes that help owners embrace full lives, focusing on the things that matter most to them, while maintenance is handled on their behalf. That leaves time for the activities they love, whether that is hiking or skiing, reading a good book, or catching up with friends and family. No matter what it is, that’s what Boulder Creek means by “Lifefullness.”
With its low-maintenance homes that are perfectly sized between 1660 and 3140 square feet including the lower level, easy to navigate main-floor living (no more climbing stairs multiple times a day), and beautiful community gardens, park, and the majestic Long’s Peak in the distance, Tramonto is a haven. Its paired patio homes start in the $560s.
