New home buyers flock to West Grange for quality homes, neighborhood schools, and outdoor lifestyle
Spring signals the welcome return of longer days, blossoming trees, and blooming daffodils. If you’re a new home buyer, the buzz of construction at West Grange in west Longmont is a sound you’ve been waiting for. The rolling, graded terrain at Nelson Road and 75th Street is humming with activity. Homes are going up from two of the three builders. Benches and fresh landscaping define the pocket park and the Nelson Road corridor, and the sales center is bustling. The spring buying season is under way, and West Grange is that happening place developer Markel Homes has been working toward for years.
Act now for best pricing and choice of lot and plan
Early West Grange buyers are wise to take advantage of introductory pricing. Base pricing under $600,000 won’t last indefinitely. Lot and home selection is strongest in these first months of sales activity, with buyers enjoying a wide variety of location and plan options. As the community fills in, the choices will start to narrow to protect the diversity of the streetscape and to balance lot requirements with home size and style.
Model homes ready starting in July
Models from builders Markel Homes and McStain Neighborhoods are under construction now. The first model scheduled to open in July/August is from McStain Neighborhoods. The model is the builder’s largest plan for West Grange, the Harmony, in Prairie-style architecture. The home features four bedrooms, three baths plus powder room, main floor study, and three-car tandem garage as well as outdoor living front and back and an optional lower level finish. The home is conveniently located next to the sales center.
Markel Homes is building two models at West Grange. Both are under way, with completion scheduled for late summer/early fall. The 2000 Two-Story Farmhouse is a three-bedroom plan with open living, dining and kitchen, main floor study, two-car garage, and unfinished lower level. Markel’s second model is the single story 2000 Ranch Modern Craftsman, offering one of the most sought-after features among buyers of every age: the main floor master suite. Both models are from the Markel Homes Modern American Classics Collection of contemporary architectural classics.
Families love the proximity to excellent K-12 schools
Three of the best schools in the reputable St. Vrain School District are located along the rim of West Grange, with nearby playing fields and a children’s playground. Depending on where you live in the community, the kids are a walk, bike ride, or short drive from Blue Mountain Elementary, Altona Middle School and Silver Creek High School.
Move-in homes going up now
Homes for sale from Markel Homes and McStain Neighborhoods are under construction, with completion dates starting in early fall. In the vernacular of builders, these “spec” homes will be the first move-in-ready homes in the months ahead.
McStain Neighborhoods has started construction on four spec homes, all two-story plans with a variety of elevation options. Two plans – the Serenade and the Concerto – are being built in the Farmhouse style. The Interlude plan features Prairie-style architecture. The Harmony plan features a Mid-Century Modern elevation. Pricing on the four homes begins in the mid $600s to low $700s. Standard features include a 42-inch linear gas fireplace, freestanding bath in the master suite, and stainless steel Moen plumbing fixtures. The homes are equipped with a Nest doorbell and thermostat, tankless water heater, and built-in bench and cubbies in the owner’s entry.
Markel Homes has started construction on their 1500 Ranch Incline, two-story 1650 Bow House, and two-story 1500 Modern Farmhouse, all from the Modern American Classics Collection. Pricing starts at $579,900. Standard kitchen features include a cooktop with chimney hood, double wall ovens, stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, and a single-bowl Kohler sink. The homes feature advanced energy and water-saving measures as well as healthy, clean and comfortable indoor air, hot water on demand, and green building materials to conserve resources and ensure durability. The homes are equipped with several tech-friendly features and the construction is engineered to support solar panels.
