A team of family-focused construction experts offer years of residential and commercial experience, with satisfied customers from Cheyenne to Denver.

Homeowners place a lot of trust in the contracting company they hire to do a construction job, be it a small renovation or a dream project that starts from scratch. Those are some big responsibilities, and finding the right team – and a contractor that can turn its experience into an expertly-crafted project, on time and on budget – can be one of the biggest challenges facing a well-intentioned customer.
C2RS Contracting, a small team based in Johnstown, is entirely focused on providing high-quality construction, with a big emphasis on total customer satisfaction. The business, which was formerly known as APR Contracting LLC, uses its Northern Colorado base to serve both residential and business clients from Cheyenne to Boulder, as well as communities out on the eastern plains.
The team consists of general contractor Mike Bailey, superintendent Travis Kinning, and office manager Kim Yordt. They are about as family-oriented as it comes – Bailey’s son Khristopher also works for the company, and the crew has a collective quarter-century of experience in construction. The business is in a quick expansion mode, with more staff being added in the coming months, which will better allow them to take on an expanded customer base.
Mike Bailey says C2RS’s mission is to use that expertise to effectively and efficiently take clients through every stage of the project and make their dreams a reality, on both small and mass-scale jobs. It’s an approach that saw him named Best Home Remodeler/Handyman in the Loveland Reporter-Herald’s 2018 Reader’s Choice awards.
“We like to treat our customers like family, and really look out for what’s best for them,” he says. “In lots of cases, that simply means looking ahead for their future needs. I just finished a project and as I looked at the plans, I figured it would make sense to run power for a future hot tub – the client said that was exactly what he had in mind, and wondered how I knew that would be a good idea.”
Bailey’s 18 years with Loveland’s Coe Construction taught him a thing or two about deliverables – making sure that client desires come to life, in a timely and realistic fashion – and working alongside his son and the rest of the company’s team, he says he’s proud to offer top-notch service. The company’s expertise includes major remodels, home additions, tenant improvements and even complete ground-up development projects.
“We typically do about three to four projects at one time, with one larger anchor project to focus on,” he says. “This spring, that’s included doing a $1.5 million remodel job in Boulder, where we’ve converted everything to an open floorplan, and means a complete demo job. We’re also doing lots of bathroom remodels, using lots of fancier finishes – we have onyx panels going into a home out in Byers – and we’re completing work on a total house renovation for a home that was damaged in a fire up in Laporte.”
The C2RS team is able to bring a sharp focus to even relatively basic domestic reno projects, quickly transforming a basic powder room in one client’s home into a full bathroom in less than two weeks – combining that with a kitchen makeover that will make the home much more sellable in the future.
“Really, it’s their home, and their future, and their investment. We like to care about the client and try to look forward to their needs,” he says. “I’ve even done stuff like pre-install backing in the bathroom walls so that they’ll be able to install grab bars if they eventually need them.”
In addition to residential projects, Bailey says he also appreciates doing commercial work. Over his career, Bailey has handled restaurant projects for the Egg & I chain in Lakewood and Colorado Springs, and other Northern Colorado businesses including First Tech Federal Credit Union and Abound Solar. C2RS recently finished an expansion job for Blue Ribbon Autobody in Greeley, and was able to handle the project from start to finish in just six weeks, all on budget.
