The creator of North End in Louisville and Dakota Ridge Village in Boulder is on track to open sales centers this fall in three new communities, starting in mid-November. The Boulder-based construction company brings their commitment to building remarkable homes in prime locations to West Grange in west Longmont, Silver Creek in central Lafayette, and Blue Sage in west Lafayette. Eager homebuyers can expect to see ground-breaking equipment onsite in late December or early next year.

West Grange – A special place to live

From the start, Markel Homes envisioned their new community at 75th and Nelson Road in west Longmont as a place that would attract singles and couples as well as families and empty nesters. Markel Homes is partnering with McStain Neighborhoods and Masterwork Home Company to create an architectural mix of ranch-style and two-story single-family homes, custom homes, town homes and duplexes at West Grange. With single-family homes from the $500s, pricing is more affordable than what buyers find in Boulder, and Longmont’s quality of life makes the Rocky Mountain community a standout. West Grange runs adjacent to hundreds of acres of open space and down-range mountain views, anchored by majestic Long’s Peak. Walkways and pocket parks weave throughout the community. Three St. Vrain schools serving grades K-12 are a walk, bike ride or short drive from home. The reservoir at Lagerman Agricultural Preserve is just south on 75th Street, and the walking paths, playground and trail connections at 18-acre Dry Creek Community Park are close by. Widen the lens and West Grange is minutes from the restaurants, stores, coffee shops and craft beer on Hover Road.

Single-family homes from the upper $300s

There’s a lot to attract buyers to the Silver Creek community and its central location near Hwy 287 and Baseline Road in Lafayette. Topping the list are stylish, energy-savvy single-family homes in the upper $300s – a rarity in Boulder County. Called contemporary cottages, the homes are from Markel’s Modern American Classics Collection, featuring updated versions of architectural favorites like prairie-style and farmhouse designs. The well-organized floor plan features three bedrooms and two baths, open living and kitchen areas with fabulous natural light, and an attached single-car garage. Compliance with energy efficiency and clean air standards makes them super efficient, healthy and ultra comfortable. More good news: buyers won’t be saddled with paying for upgrades to live in the home they want. The price tag includes hardwood flooring, stainless steel appliances, and Kohler sinks, Delta faucets and solid surface tops in the kitchen and baths.

In addition to the contemporary cottages, over time Markel Homes will build larger single-family homes priced from the $500s as well as town homes, duplexes and condo lofts at Silver Creek. Joining them with a series of two-story single-family home designs from their Classic Collection is Denver-based McStain Neighborhoods, also a partner at West Grange in Longmont and Blue Sage in Lafayette.

Town homes from the upper $300s

Markel Homes brings their passion for inclusive, multi-generational communities to an intimate thirteen-acre neighborhood called Blue Sage, located two blocks north of South Boulder Road in west Lafayette. Town homes are going up first, favorably priced in the upper $300s. The plan features open living and kitchen areas and a powder room on the main floor, two en-suite bedrooms with baths on the upper level, and a detached single-car garage. The unfinished lower level accommodates a future rec room, third bedroom/office and third bath. Gorgeous hardwood flooring, stainless steel appliances, and solid surface tops in the kitchens and baths are standard in the town homes. Energy Star® certification and a Nest thermostat provide optimal efficiency and indoor comfort.

Markel’s Modern American Classics Collection establishes the architectural bones for Blue Sage, in concert with timeless single-family home designs from partner McStain Neighborhoods. In addition to the town homes, Markel Homes will build single-family homes from the $500s and duplexes. The community is a gem of a neighborhood, with a lovely community garden and trails to lakes, parks and more trails. Residents are less than a mile from commuting routes to Boulder, Longmont, Denver and DIA, and minutes from restaurants, shops and services in Lafayette and Louisville.
