Opening Jan. 19 at Brennan by the Lake –

A new kind of model townhome is opening at Brennan by the Lake, the Erie community designed by acclaimed lifestyle builder Boulder Creek Neighborhoods.

Two professionally designed and decorated model homes will be available to tour at 579 Brennan Circle in Erie this Saturday and Sunday Jan. 19
and 20.

“But do I really want a townhome?”

Rita Myers-Wieringa and her husband, Glenn Wieringa, moved from Santa Fe to Colorado about a year ago to be near their daughter. A Realtor introduced them to Brennan by the Lake, and Rita and Glenn didn’t expect to prefer a townhome – “we’d already done the townhome thing after we were first married,” Rita said.

Glenn and Rita also savor the walking paths ringing Thompson Reservoir, adjacent to Brennan by the Lake, and frequently wander into Downtown Erie. “We wanted to live in an established community,” Rita said. Erie has received its share of accolades recently, as both a “Best Place” and a “Safest Place” to live in Colorado. Glenn adds, “the downtown is nice to take guests to. We like to show them the town and the Historical National Registry Heritage.” 

Furthermore, “it seems like there’s always something to do,” Rita said. “The community center has a lot to offer and hosts speakers and day trips. Every weekend there’s something in Erie, from Biscuit Day and the farmer’s market to festivals.” Rita and Glenn ride their bikes to the library and even their doctor appointments.
