DENVER – Fairway Mortgage’s The Rueth Team is proud to announce the arrival of Gabe Bodner as the team’s new reverse mortgage division manager. In this role, Bodner will focus predominantly on educating Realtors®, financial advisors, consumers and clients on the often confusing reality of reverse mortgages in order to help clients structure their reverse mortgages for short and long-term goals.
Gabe’s past expertise in reverse mortgages is what led him to this position within The Rueth Team. A mortgage professional for over 19 years, Bodner has experienced all aspects of the mortgage lending industry as a mortgage banker, broker, sales manager, branch manager and branch owner of a very successful net branch in Silicon Valley, CA. For over four years, he has committed his mortgage lending career to showing people how to utilize reverse mortgages and navigate the process, which is what led him to merge his team with The Rueth Team.
Bodner states, “It is an honor to continue to build upon the success of The Rueth Team. I’ve long felt that the way retirement is done in this country is broken and along with The Rueth Team, I am on a mission to help change that and improve the lives of seniors in our country so they can live a better quality of life in retirement, and into their golden years.”
Licensed as a mortgage originator in CO, CA, OR, WA, NV and AZ. He has worked with first-time buyers, investors, flippers, developers and everyone in between, though his true specialty is in serving seniors. As a reverse mortgage planner, Bodner helps seniors evaluate their income and cash flow needs in retirement. His goal is to help people include home equity into their retirement planning strategy, and he believes that by doing so clients will not only improve cash flow but they can also pay less in taxes and leave a larger legacy for their heirs.
Prior to merging with The Rueth Team, Bodner was a producing branch manager at Fairway Mortgage in Boulder, where he met Peter Rueth, integrations manager of The Rueth Team, over the topic of reverse mortgages. Flash forward three years later when The Rueth Team was re-introduced to Bodner and this partnership blossomed into reality.
Graduating from CU Leeds Business School in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Bodner was also in the Army ROTC program and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant upon graduation and spent four years on Active Duty in the US Army and later spent four years in the Army Reserve. Currently, alongside his new position with The Rueth Team, Bodner is also a part-time adjunct professor at CU Boulder Leeds Real Estate School where he assists his customers with their home financing needs by evaluating their goals, time horizons and risk tolerances to educate them and make recommendations on how to best structure their mortgage financing needs. When Bodner is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, skiing, running, biking, hiking, camping and anything outdoors.
